Scholarships

The Buffalo State College Music Department is pleased to offer music performance scholarships to musically and academically qualified instrumentalists and vocalists who wish to major in music or music education.

Awards range in size from $500-$1,500 per academic year and are renewable for a maximum of four years. For renewal, students must maintain a college GPA of 3.0, show progress toward attaining the degree, and have the continued endorsement of the Music Faculty.

Musical qualifications are assessed at the entrance audition and interview with the music faculty. Academic qualifications include a high school average of no less than 87 percent and a minimum SAT score of 1020.

Every student who auditions for entrance to the Music Department, who is academically qualified, will automatically be given scholarship consideration. Written notification will only be sent to those who receive a scholarship offer.
