Lecture: Lasers in Art Conservation
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Science Building 205
Seyffie Maleki, professor of physics at Union College, will present as part of the Chemistry/Physics Fall Lecture Series. Maleki will discuss the use of lasers in art conservation to record, analyze, and restore works of art, and how the multidisciplinary nature of art conservation research has provided him with opportunities to explore his personal interests in physics and the arts. All students are welcome to attend.

Women's Studies Art Tour
Time: 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Burchfield Penney Art Center
Join faculty, staff, and students from the Women's Studies program for a guided, interactive tour of The Photographs of Clara Sipprell exhibit at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Sipprell (1885-1975) was a prominent female photographer whose work includes portraits, still-lifes, landscapes, and cityscapes. The tour will include discussion of how gender influences the work and careers of female artists. Please meet in the lobby of the Burchfield Penney Art Center. The tour is free for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff.

Houghton Chapter, New York State Archaeological Association talk featuring Dr. Güner Coskunsu, Postdoctoral Scholar/Fellow, Institute for European and Mediterranean Archaeology, University at Buffalo.
