Accessing Banner
Banner ID and PIN
As a new faculty member, you will be assigned a Banner ID number and default PIN. The Computing Help Desk will contact you with this information, and will walk you through accessing your Banner account. If you haven’t been contacted by the CHD yet, you can check on the status by calling 878-4357 (or e-mail chd@buffalostate.edu).
Looking Up Your Banner ID
Your Banner ID number begins with an uppercase “B” followed by 8 digits. Unless you have it written down somewhere, it can be easy to forget this number. Fortunately, you can look up your Banner ID at anytime using the Faculty Banner ID Lookup at https://bscintra.buffalostate.edu/accounts/idlookup. When the login box appears, you will need to enter: “bsclogon\username” in the username box (replacing “username” with your Buffalo State username).
Changing Your Default PIN
Your default PIN for Banner is your birth date in the MMDDYY format (all numbers). For example, if you were born on January 1st, 1970, your default PIN would be 010170. This PIN is only temporary and must be changed!
