Earth Day Update
The VSLC joined forces with Buffalo/Niagara Riverkeeper, Blackrock-Riverside Neighborhood Housing Service, Great American Clean-Up, Key Bank-Green Fund, and the Evergreen Student Branch for clean-up and tree planting on Saturday, April 19th in honor of Earth Day. Over 100 BSC students braved the un-seasonally warm temperatures and volunteered to help beautify the Buffalo community. Their contribution to the successful Grant Street sweep, Scajaqauda Creek clean-up, and area tree planting really made an impact! Special thanks to J.P. Losman for donating our t-shirts and stopping by. Thanks to all who participated!
Volunteer Fair 2008
The VSLC held a very successful Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, February 13th ! Organization representatives from the around WNY came to discuss possibilities for community service. Students in attendance found the event to be very helpful and informative. In addition, the diverse representation of volunteer organizations allowed students to choose an area of personal interest. Congratulations to BSC student Sandra Jardine for winning the grand prize Barnes and Noble Gift Card!
