Service-Learning Introduction Orientation for Students

The VSLC recognizes how important a thorough service-learning orientation is for students, helping them to understand their role in the community and its connection to the class.To assist you, we have provided an example of an Orientation PowerPoint that you may download and modify to suit your needs.We encourage you to also include your community partners in the orientation.

We have also scheduled three general orientations that your students are welcome to attend. We will provide you with attendance information. The dates are:

  • Thursday, 9/10/09, 12:15-1:30pm, Bulger South
  • Wednesday, 9/16/09, 4:15- 6:00pm, Ketchum Hall 106
  • Thursday, 9/22/09, 12:15-1:30 pm, Bulger South
Feel free to contact the VSLC to discuss orientations in greater detail. This PowerPoint orientation is flexible and can take from 20 – 50 minutes.
