Effective January 1, 2009, the coinsurance maximum (out-of-pocket expenses)
for the following employees will change to reflect the change in the
Consumer Price Index:
M/C, UUP, and PEF: $1,000
NYSCOPBA and Council 82: $1,345
CSEA: $500
The coinsurance maximum will be reduced to $300 for calendar year 2009 for
CSEA employees in (or equated to) salary grade 6 or below as of January 1,
2009.
Note: There is no deductible or
coinsurance when employees use the Empire Plan Participating Provider
Network.
Empire Plan Deductibles for 2009
Effective January 1, 2009, annual deductibles for M/C, UUP, PEF,
NYSCOPBA, and Council 82 employees will increase to $363 per enrollee, $363
per enrolled spouse or domestic partner, and $363 for all dependent children
combined. This change reflects the 4.1 percent increase in the medical care
component of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical
Workers (CPI-W) for July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.
The annual deductible for CSEA employees will remain at $225.
