NYS-Ride
(pronounced NICE Ride) is a program that allows New York State
employees to save money on a monthly basis on eligible public
transportation expenses by paying for the cost through pre-tax
payroll deductions. By enrolling in NYS-Ride, you can save money
on work-related public transportation expenses/fares for mass
transit or vanpools–and support a cleaner New York. The program
is sponsored by GOER and administered by WageWorks.
NYS-Ride Qualifying Public Transportation Commuter
Costs Include:
- Buses
- Trains
- Subways
- Van Pools
- Ferries
Employees who participate in NYS-Ride may save up to 40
percent on transportation expenses, up to the statutory limits.
The IRS has increased the allowable pre-tax amount effective for
2013 and you may now set aside up to $245 per month in pre-tax
salary when you enroll in NYS-Ride.
There is no open enrollment period. You must enroll two
months prior to the month you would like to participate. For
