How do I turn on the data video projector?
To project an image onto the large screen from the VCR, DVD or a computer, press projector on and then choose the input of the equipment you want to use.

How do I turn on the microphone?
In large rooms that require a microphone, you do not need to turn on the system, the amplifier is always on. For wired mics make sure it is plugged in to the mic input jack, and turn up the MIC volume on the console. For wireless mics, slide the switch located on the transmitter (part worn on your waist) to on and adjust the volume by MIC volume on the console.

What if the wireless microphone is cutting out?
Try a new battery, located in the drawer of the console.

How can I hook up my laptop to the projector in a Smart classroom?
Important note:   You may connect a personally-owned laptop (non-college equipment) to the projector in any Smart classroom using the directions below. You may NOT connect a personally-owned laptop to the wired campus network via ethernet cable. If you need network access use the computer provided in the Smart classroom.
If you need to project from a laptop, connect the VGA cable (located in the console drawer) to the laptop and to the outlet on the console. Turn on the MASTER switch. Press and hold the button labled PROJECTOR ON for 2 seconds. Press the button labeled LAPTP. Once you see the projector image, turn on the laptop. When you are finished, press the PROJECTOR OFF button. Disconnect the cable and return it to the drawer. Turn off the power by using the MASTER switch after the projector light stops flashing.

How can I hook up my Mac laptop to theprojector in a Smart classroom?
Follow the instructions above for "how to hook up my laptop in the classrooms." You will need the DVI display adapter for your particular model of Mac laptop to connect to the projector's VGA cable. Once the display cables are connected and projector is on go to the Apple menu on the Mac’s desktop, select “System Preferences”, then “Display”. Set the display to “mirror."

What if the image is not on the screen after hooking the laptop up?
Make sure you have the cable connected correctly. Look at the laptop's F keys. Find the one with a monitor image or the word LCD. Hold down the Fn key and then depress the F key with the image/LCD. You may have to do this twice in order that you have an image for the projector and on the laptop's screen.

Can I plug in an external audio source such as a CD player to the system?
For audio sources such as a CD player use the "Auxiliary Audio" input on the panel. Volume is controlled by the volume control knob above the input. It is not necessary to turn on the projection system to play audio only.

Can I plug in an external video source such as a DVD player to the system?
There is not a need to as you can play a DVD through the DVD player or the computer already provided in the room.
