Need an online course, but do not see it listed here?
The
SUNY Learning Network lists online courses for SUNY institutions. Go to http://sln.suny.edu/ and then choose Prospective Students, and then choose the current or upcoming semester's Course List/Start Dates. Click the small blue triangle next to the institution's name to see their course offerings.

If you are matriculated at Buffalo State and are interested in registering for a SUNY Learning Network course offered by another SUNY campus, please be aware that you are responsible for the following:

  • Adhering to your home campus policy regarding transfer credit approval.
  • Contact the Financial Aid Office at Buffalo State regarding satisfactory academic progress and financial aid eligibility. Students who do not successfully complete two-thirds or more of their cumulative coursework at Buffalo State will become ineligible for financial aid, including Stafford Loans,
  • Informing the Student Accounts Office (Bursar) and the Registrar's Office at Buffalo State about the credits taken at another institution as part of your semester workload.
  • Acquiring academic approval should an SLN course cause academic over load.
  • Requesting transcripts of grades to be sent to home campus.

If you see something you would like to take, you must check with your academic department and advisor to see if the course will transfer to Buffalo State. As these are SUNY credits, most may transfer but there are exceptions. Please check with your department and advisor before enrolling in a course. If you choose to enroll in a SUNY Learning Network course, you must register and pay the institution offering the course.

Additional Questions? Please see the SUNY Learning Network section on Frequently Asked Questions by Students.

If you're not a current Buffalo State student, you need to fill out a non-matriculated student form before you can register for classes. For undergraduate classes, use the Undergraduate Non-Degree Registration Application and for graduate classes use the Non-Degree and/or Visiting Student Application.
