Green is the Theme
This year's symposium theme is environmental responsibility and photography as a tool for social change.

Everything is Within a Half Hour Drive
From the shores of Lake Erie to the shores of Chautauqua Lake, almost everything in Chautauqua County is within a half hour drive.

Come Early, Stay Later
Check out the 2009 Mayville Bluegrass Festival the weekend before the symposium and consider visiting Chautauqua Institution for its opening week beginning the Sunday after. Be sure to link to the Visitor's Bureau site to discover the many other recreational opportunites in Chautauqua County, the green and lovely natural vacationland.

Nick Vedros - Bio

nick_vedros

Nick Vedros vividly remembers seeing his Uncle Mike’s black & white photographs on the family kitchen table at age 13.  The inspiration he felt as a child stayed with him; he graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Photojournalism in 1976 and then quickly found his true passion in the world of commercial photography.

Anyone can look through a viewfinder, but there’s nothing simple about Nick’s multi-disciplinary approach for bringing a concept to life:

• Inspired imagination fueled by ingenuity
• State-of-the-art production resources
• An innovative studio team of hand-picked professionals
• Attentiveness to client satisfaction which is downright addictive

In the hands of a photographer driven to make every shot his best, it is simple to understand why Nick’s work garners top honors from the Addys, the Effies, Archive International, Communication Arts, N.A.M.A., the Top 200 Advertising Photographers, and the Canon Explorer of Light program. His award-winning methodology attracts blue-chip clients like Apple, Bayer, Capital One, Coca-Cola, DuPont, IBM, Kodak, Microsoft Sony, and Sprint.

This dedication to craft may explain Nick’s track record for resolving creative challenges-ingeniously. When a solution is evasive, Nick heads for the open road on one of his motorcycles. Inspiration, Nick will tell you, has been known to hitchhike.

On a Vedros shoot, every detail is obsessively controlled. There is no shortage of creative inspiration or top shelf resources. Challenges are anticipated and addressed proactively. Nick creates an atmosphere of confidence that frees clients to concentrate on creative direction. The music is great, the panoramic views spectacular, the hospitality genuine, and the humor constant. With Nick, you’re not just going to a photoshoot. You’re having an entire creative experience. The Vedros Experience. Is it any wonder that one shoot with Nick Vedros is never enough?
