College Scholarship - A&WMA College scholarships for the 2000/2001 academic year are now available from the Niagara Frontier Section. The deadline is March 23rd. Applications are available from Dr. Vermette or you can obtain a copy off the A&WMA-NFS web page at : http://www.awmanfs.org

January 30th - Informational Meeting.

February 13th - Alan Zylinski from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will give a presentation on the role of an Air Resources Officer in Erie County.

February 15th - The A&WMA chapter will provide a van to the 4th Annual Joint A&WMA/WEA Seminar on "Environmental Health & Safety Issues for the New Millennium". Student registration is $30. If interested sign up on the Geology Club bulletin board or e-mail Dr. Vermette at: vermetsj@buffalostate.edu.

February 22nd - The AWMA-NFS will hold its February dinner meeting at Salvatore's. Guest speaker is Kenneth Pokalsky, Business Council of New York State, speaking on: Legislative Changes Which May Affect Environmental Professionals. There will be no cost for A&WMA members. Please sign up on the Geology Club bulletin board or e-mail Dr. Vermette at vermetsj@buffalostate.edu.

March 6th - Ed Watts will visit to discuss the Environmental Professional Intern (EPI) certification. Students interested in EPI certification need to see Dr. Vermette to obtain a booklet describing the program.

March 27th - The Constitution and Issues Relating to Environmental Management: Fifth Amendment and State vs. Federal Powers. Presented by Robert Knoer, Knoer & Crawford, LLP

May 14 -18 - OSHA 40-hour Training Certification. The 8-hour refresher is scheduled for the 18th. Free to BSC-A&WMA members. More details to follow.
