The authors discussed problem solving as entailing three main areas: (a) the elimination of stress. (b) conflict resolution, and (c) problem comprehension and solution implementation. A problem-solving theory was discussed which involves both decision making and problem-solving behavioral processes explained through a series of definitions, axioms and theorems. Implications for work, marriage and future research were discussed.
