The author discussed how the family may be examined through the use of an ecological framework. Framework entails both economic and psycho-social factors affecting family relations and resource management. Multiple examples of problem-solving and decision-making situations, within the family, were described. Comparisons with other family frameworks were provided. Implications for education, counseling and future research were discussed.
