Journal Article (ISSN: 0882-0627)
The author described three idea generating techniques which may assist nursing and staff development educators with decision making. The three techniques are: (a) brainstorming (i.e., group technique where ideas are gathered verbally and written down and then evaluated using one of several techniques); (b) Nominal Group Technique (i.e., ideas are generated in writing and then discussed openly); and (c) Delphi Technique (i.e., ideas are collected anonymously through interviews or questionnaires, and then prioritized). Implications for customer satisfaction and training were provided.
