A study that examines the effect of participative decision making (PDM) on job activities and employee outcomes, with the purpose of focusing on the level of analysis. Fifty-four individuals in a law enforcement agency completed questionnaires to assess the degree of PDM, their job activity (law enforcement, administration, latitude) and outcomes (respect/image, work satisfaction, commitment). Use of Within-and-Between-Analysis (WABA) shows that effects are based primarily on between-groups differences.
