Steele, Diane Marie. (2003). The influence of cognitive style on insight problem solving. Unpublished masters thesis, Buffalo State College- State University of New York, Department for Creative Studies, Buffalo, NY.

Type of Resource: Dissertation/Thesis
Full-Text: PDF

This is a thesis on exploring the effects of cognitive style on insight problem-solving behavior. It was measured using Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory (KAI) and the FourSight inventory. The study had one hundred and forty-seven participants who completed FourSight, KAI, a biographical data questionnaire, and eight insight problems. Analysis found that experience was the strongest indicator for success in solving insight problems because cognitive variables revealed little or no impact.
