This research study explored the effects of simple strategic questioning training on children's problem solving performance in a fifth grade classroom setting. Strategic questions given to one group contributed to a higher level of problem solving performance over groups told to just ask questions or were not given any instructions at all. The strategically trained group outperformed the other two groups and were able transfer the strategies to more complex problems in varying contexts.
