Structure and directional factors are examined in small group work settings to determine the level of cooperation and the internal regulation of behavior in order to function well in group problem solving.Cooperative groups followed an ideal problem solving behavior pattern. Differences occurred in implementing the phases. Cooperative groups completed sequences whereas the uncooperative groups completed very little.
