The authors of this article believe that teachers daily strive to go beyond just imparting knowledge and are looking for ways to stretch students beyond their current thinking so they can begin to view the world in diverse ways. One method the authors' suggest that would help in this endeavor is to deliberately focus on the creativity skill of 'Look at it Another Way'. In so doing students can practice and gain insights into looking beyond an intial perspective in order to more easily see multiple perspectives. The article provides the reader with examples of 2 lessons to help in the application of the creativity skill. The first lesson uses the Torrance Incubation Model to teach the creativity skill of Look at it Another Way. The second lesson integrates the creativity skill of Look at it Another Way into a subject matter lesson using the Torrance Incubation Model. The three stages of the Torrance Incubation Model are: Warming Up; Deepening Expectations; and Extending the Learning.
