The authors support the premise that educators should facilitate reflective thinking skills into their teaching methods. The article examines the models of Dewey, Socratic questioning, journal writing and InterPersonal Recall as they relate to reflective thinking skills and reflective judgment. They conclude that these skills help devolope self-understanding and awaremness that are characteristics often associated with counselor competence.
