The author compares the similarities and differences of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS), Lateral Thinking and Synectics creative problem solving methods against focused dimensions of analysis. Dimensions of analysis include philosophical, theoretical, structural, functional and efficacy. Project provides an objective base of data that allows creativity practitioners, researchers and educators to make better-informed decisions about the study and application of creative problem solving in general. Gonzalez discusses the importance of having knowledge of all three methods and being able to use them in their totality or pieced together depending on the demands of the challenge at hand. Project findings bring closure to misperceptions surrounding the three methods and act as a springboard to help initiate more investigation, collaboration and unity among creativity practitioners, researchers and educators.
