Play the beloved childhood activity, is examined to show its links to creativity. Theories have proposed that socio-dramatic play, toddler play, and adult play allow a person to become a more divergent thinker. Divergent thinking is believed to allow them to make better uses of their imagination. An overview of the research and tests on plays' relationship to creativity is discussed. The flaws in the research are also mentioned. Play tutoring, a program pioneered by the works of E. Pual Torrance, is also mentioned.
