Howard has composed a textbook for a course on creating an autobiographical performance based on a historical figure. Early chapters focus on the history of theater and specifically the history of autobiographical or "one-man" plays. This section also contains a detailed discussion of the effects and process of role-modeling. Other chapters discuss the process of researching the material and writing the script. The last section focuses on performance aspects including costumes, accents, movements, staging and props.
