A study designed to identify several variables which might serve as possible predictors of an individual's effectiveness as a facilitator of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) in an undergraduate college course. Variables were gathered through various instruments administered to both the facilitator and their students. The sample of the study consisted of 12 instructors (facilitators) and 106 students in three sections of a semester-long introductory course in Creative Studies. The test included the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT), the Khatena- Torrance Creative Perception Inventory, The Adjective Checklist (ACL), and the Creative Thinking Observation Schedule. Analysis of the predictor variables identified 3 general categories which contribute to a facilitator's effectiveness. These are identified as 1) characteristics, 2) content knowledge, and 3) transmission ability.
