An essay that details the use of metaphors as a means of generating creative thoughts in groups. Included in this article is a review of the Eastern use of metaphor, the background of I Ching, and the use of the method with small groups. Conclusions suggest that by using metaphors of hexagrams students are able to improve their ability to generate creative solutions to problems, and confront group problems.
