Office Recycling Guide

What can be recycled?

 RINSED Glass, plastic, & metal in green bins

UNSOILED Paper & cardboard in blue bins

The proper procedure when recycling is as follows:

  • Wipe out and rinse all food containers: plastic, glass and metal.

  • Empty out any liquids in sink before recycling.

  • Flatten down cardboard boxes and packaging; stack up or fit inside each other.

What cannot be recycled?

  • Cardboard milk cartons (you may be able to recycle these at home).

  • Paper cups (including those from Campus food services).

  • Waxed paper

  • Soiled tin foil

  • Tissues

  • Candy wrappers

  • Plastic bags: you can re-use these, donate them to the Elmwood Avenue Lexington Co-op or recycle them at your local supermarket.

  • Pizza boxes

Separate recycling bins are available for printer cartridges, batteries, CDs, DVDs, and VHS/Audio tapes in each department.
