BSCenery (bee-es-seenery), begun in 1995 by Campus Services, is an internship program for local high school students who help beautify the campus by creating and maintaining indoor and outdoor plantscapes. The largest percentage of interns are enrolled in the horticulture curriculum at neighboring McKinley High School and also earn college credit for their field work on campus. During their internships, students learn about soils, plant biology, arboriculture, fertilizing, pruning, plant identification, controlling plant diseases and insect infestation, interior plantscapes and landscape design.
