The Great Lakes Center is a multidisciplinary research, education and service institute with a primary focus on the Great Lakes. Personnel of the Center understand that the Great Lakes are a complex, interacting, and evolving ecosystem with dynamic physical, chemical, biological, and societal dimensions. They know that proper stewardship of the system requires transdisciplinary research approaches to the critical problems facing the Great Lakes, community outreach to promote understanding of the system, and education of future generations.
