24/7 - Faith: All Day, Every Day

"I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7

"Hear The Word, Live the Word" - Every Sunday from 10:45 - 11:15 AM during the academic year, students and community members will have a chance to explore and discuss the Scripture readings from Mass. Faith sharing will also be an integral component of each session.

Liturgy of the Word for Children - This lectionary-based program will be made available to the children of our Newman community. Every Sunday, the children will be dismissed from Mass for their own Liturgy of the Word to study the Scripture readings of the day and will later rejoin the community for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Holy Grounds - What Would Jesus Brew? - Join us for a discussion of moral and ethical issues that affect our lives, our actions, and our community. Holy Grounds sessions will be held on Sundays, September 28th, November 23rd, January 25th, and March 29th from 12:30 - 1:15 PM.

Signs of God's Presence: Sacramental Firsts - The parents of any child who is of age to receive the Sacraments of First reconciliation or First Eucharist should contact Fr. Pat. Stressing the importance of parental involvement, there is a "sacramental pull-out" program (to be completed at home) in addition to regular faith formation classes. Families will be given the necessary materials to work on toward celebrating the Sacrament and will periodically meet with Fr. Pat when they feel ready. This work is done at the family's own pace and can take as little or as long as necessary. Once the program has been completed, the child will be eligible to celebrate the Sacrament.
Confirmation - Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be held after 11:30 Mass on September 7th, October 12th, November 9th, November 30th, February 22nd, March 8th, and April 12th. A sheet listing requirements of all candidates is available upon request.

Generations of Faith - "What Do We Believe?" - Our monthly sessions will begin again in September, continuing on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. A potluck supper will begin at 5:00 before the session starts. Topics for the new year include The Church Year, Liturgy, Sacraments, and Our System of Beliefs. Session dates are: September 7th, October 5th, November 2nd, December 7th (Advent Celebration), January 4th, February 8th, March 1st, April 5th, and May 3rd.

Living the Life You've Always Wanted!" - Life is a spiritual Journey. Contemplative living is a way of responding to our everyday experiences by consciously attending to our relationships with self, others and God. it deepens the awareness of our connectedness and communion with others, and provides meaningful direction to our journey. Ultimately, contemplative living leads us to a sense of well-being, profound gratitude, and a clearer understanding of our purpose in life. Join us for a four-session prayer and discussion series each semester geared toward living the life you've always wanted. Sessions are on Sundays, September 21st, October 19th, November 16th, December 14th, January 11th, February 15th, March 15th, and April 19th at 12:30 PM.

The first day-long retreat in the Fall of 2008 will take place at the Abbey of the Genesee on Saturday, October 18th.
