Spring 2012 Retreat:

Join us and our friends from Fredonia State for a trip to the Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY from Friday, March 2 to Sunday, March 4. Transportation and food will be provided. Details to follow.

Fall 2011 Retreat:

This semester we will be going to the Harvest House in South Buffalo. The Harvest House is a renovated church now used as a retreat house. We will be focused around the theme of "keeping your faith while in college". We will be spending the day examining our relationships with ourselves, with God, and with others to reflect on our actions.

Spring 2011 Retreat:

We will return to the scenic Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY for a weekend of reflection and retreat.  As the second half of the academic year begins, this retreat will give students the chance to focus on prayer, their relationship with God, and also to meet new people.  We will once again be joined by our friends from the Fredonia State College Newman Center.  The cost of the weekend is only $15 and that covers all of your needs.  To sign up, call us at 882-1080. Fall 2010 Retreat:

A Day At The Abbey - We traveled to the scenic Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY for a day of reflection and retreat.  As the new academic year began, this retreat gave students the chance to focus on prayer, their relationship with God, and also to meet new people.  Lunch was provided and the students returned to the Newman Center by 6:00 PM.  This was a great way to start the Fall Semester! 

Fall 2009 Retreat:

Where Are You Going? - At Newman, we hosted a day-long retreat focused on people's life and where the person is going in it.  This retreat provided an opportunity to closely reflect on a persons life and discern who the person really is and what each individual's purpose in life truly is.  The retreat began after 11:30 Mass and lunch was provided. 

Spring 2009 Retreat:

Students from Fredonia State College and D'Youville College enjoyed a weekend of refreshment and renewal of our relationships with God and each other at The Abbey of the Genesee. They had an opportunity to explore relationships with each other, our community and with God. Student leaders offered presentations on faith, spirituality and self-reflection. Retreatants reflected on their own faith journey and began to deepen their spiritual lives. Conversation, prayer, social activities, and community reflection allowed for a powerful and enriching experience.

 

'09 Fall Weekend Retreat

Our Fall 2009 retreat weekend took place on November 6,7 and 8. We were joined by our friends at the University at Buffalo, D'Youville College and Fredonia State College.

 

'09 Spring Weekend Retreat - "A Place in This World"

The Spring 2009 Weekend Retreat was held at the scenic Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY. We departed from the Newman Center at 4:00 on Friday, February 20th and returned on Sunday, February 22nd. Students from Fredonia State College, D'Youville College, and The University of Buffalo joined us for the weekend retreat.

 

'08 Fall Weekend Retreat - "Times Like These"

The Fall 2008 Retreat, "Times Like These," was held from Friday, October 3rd - Sunday, October 5th at the Abbey of the Genesee and answered the question, "How does faith fit into the college experience?" Students from D'Youville College and Fredonia State College joined us as well.

 

'08 Spring Weekend Retreat - "Bread Of Life II"

The 2008 Spring Retreat "Bread of Life II" was held Friday, March 7 - Sunday, March 9. It was once again held at the Abbey of the Genesee, home of the Trappist Monks and the famous Monk's Bread. In addition to BSC Students, we were joined by our friends at Fredonia State College. Our Spring Retreat, Bread of Life, was an opportunity to explore our relationship with ourselves, our community, and with God. Student leaders offered presentations on faith, spirituality, and self-reflection. Retreatants were invited to reflect on their own faith journey and began to deepen their spiritual lives. Conversation, prayer, social activities, and community reflection allow for a powerful and enriching retreat experience. The goal of retreat was to gather a diversity of students to share their stories and listen to the stories of others with the goal of seeking the presence of God in all things.

 

'07 Spring Weekend Retreat - "Bread Of Life"

This Spring's retreat was held on the weekend of March 9th - March 11th. The weekend of relaxation, renewal, and reflection was held at the Abbey of the Genesee which is the home of the Trappist Monks and a beautiful rural setting!

 

'06 Fall Weekend Retreat

This Fall's retreat was held at Stella Niagara. Eleven people attended and they all had a great time slowing down, making new friends, and visiting with God.
