Fr. Patrick Zengierski, Ph.D., is the Director of Campus Ministry here at the Buffalo State College Newman Center. He is a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, ordained in 1991. He has been involved in higher education for over thirty years, serving in both teaching and administrative positions at the University at Buffalo, Canisius College, the University of Virginia, and Christ the King Seminary. Father Pat is available for reconciliation, spiritual counseling, or if you need someone to listen.

Carmen Schaff, is a graduate from Niagara University with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Women's Studies. She enjoys service, art, and holds a special place in her heart for Grunge music. She encourages anyone to stop-by her office for coffee and great conversation!

Henry Zomerfeld, originally from Brooklyn, NY, is a Buffalo State College graduate, with his B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies. He is currently pursuing his J.D. at the University at Buffalo Law School. He has been a member of the Newman Center since he arrived at Buffalo State over five years ago. You will see Henry participating as a Lector at our 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday mornings. He is passionate about social justice, and his activites with us,in his time at Buffalo State, and currently in his work at UB reflect that. In his spare time Henry loves to listen to music, play his Fender Strat guitar, read, and hang out with friends.

Peer Ministers

 

Patrizio Biondo was born in Rochester, NY. Raised by a loving mom, he grew to appreciate the value of his family. He started college studying music and received a Performance in the Arts Associate's Degree. Currently, he is working on an Arts & Letters Individual Studies program with concentrations in Digital Music Production and Music Performance. He enjoys listening to all types of music and jamming with any musicians he can find. He loves life and is always looking for new opportunities!

 

Stephanie Pavon, was born in Mexico City, but grew up in Marietta, Georgia. She is a student at Buffalo State College pursuing a B.A. in Business Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She enjoys painting, drawing, and being creative overall. Stephanie loves to spend time with her three younger siblings and with her little Chihuahua. One of her goals is to some day help children in third world countries to be able to have an education, find God, and have a prosperous life.

 

Christian Pena, grew up in Ecuador where he spent his childhood with his grandmother. He traveled to the United States to meet his parents and they currently live in the town of Ossining in Westchester County. Despite adapting to the new culture, his effort and dedication allowed him to enter college in the fall of 2009. Christian is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with two minors, Sociology and U.S History. In his spare time, he likes to play soccer and his favorite team is Real Madrid from Spain. He also enjoys reading, listening to music, and going to the Newman Center.

Jack Petrillo, is a lover of classic cinema, and is attending Buffalo State College for a B.A. Degree in Television and Film Arts. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, and eventually moved with his family to Poughquag, New York. He is also a frequent visitor of the Newman Center as he attends 11:30am Mass regularly, and is very excited for the year to serve as a Peer Minister.
