Fr. Patrick Zengierski, Ph.D., is the Director of Campus Ministry here at the Buffalo State College Newman Center. He is a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, ordained in 1991. He has been involved in higher education for over thirty years, serving in both teaching and administrative positions at the University at Buffalo, Canisius College, the University of Virginia, and Christ the King Seminary. Father Pat is available for reconciliation, spiritual counseling, or if you need someone to listen.

Sister Candice Tucci, OSF, a member of our team is a woman of many talents. She serves on the Administration Team of her Community, is an artist and a professional campus minister. She brings her 12 years of experience in ministry to higher education to the community of Buffalo State College and The Newman Center.

Carmen Schaff, is a graduate from Niagara University with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Women's Studies. She enjoys service, art, and holds a special place in her heart for Grunge music. She encourages anyone to stop-by her office for coffee and great conversation!

Alex is a sophomore at Buffalo State College majoring in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice. She has been involved with the Newman Center since her freshman year, and has become an active member in the community. She feels that it is an honor being a minister for the Newman Center because it is a great living experience. She loves getting to know people, enjoys giving a helping hand to those in need and take pleasure in taking advise from other members of the community. She encourages people to join the Newman Center because she wants people to be part of our diverse family, where everyone is welcome.

Nathan Rey is pursuing his B.A. in Philosophy with minors in Legal Studies and Leadership at Buffalo State College. Originally from Buffalo, he served in the Marine Corps since the age of seventeen, returning to care for his beloved Grandfather. A newly confirmed Catholic, Nathan completed the R.C.I.A thanks to the staff and community of the Buffalo State College Newman Center and is ecstatic and honored to be a Peer Minister. On campus, he is serving as the Chief Justice of the United Students Government Judicial Council and the Captain of the BSC Mock Trial team.

 

Henry Zomerfeld is a recent Buffalo State College graduate, graduating with his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. He is currently pursuing his J.D. at the University at Buffalo Law School. He has been a member of the Newman Center since he arrived at Buffalo State four years ago. You will see Henry participating as a Eucharistic Minister or Lector at our 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday mornings. In addition to his activities with us, Henry served Buffalo State as the Chief Justice of the United Students Government Judicial Council and was the captain and lead attorney of the Buffalo State Mock Trial competition team. In his spare time Henry loves to listen to rock music, play his Fender Strat guitar, and hang out with friends.
