The Transformative Technology Initiatives to Invigorate Instructional Practices (TIP) Challenge grants are designed to achieve two broad goals: first, to comply with Buffalo State College's mission and institutional priorities; and second, to create an open budgetary process which allows for more input in advance of expenditures, provides rationale for choice of expenditures and increases accountability through a public evaluation process.

All members of the campus community are eligible for funding through the TIP Challenge Grant program. TIP will fund several projects, with funds totaling $25,000, during the spring and summer semesters based upon the following criteria:

  • TIP projects are group, not individual projects. Projects developed by individuals from different areas of campus (e.g. cross-departmental, faculty/staff/students with common interest) will be given higher scores than projects developed by members of a single department.
  • TIPs can be used to fund desktop hardware, software, conference hosting, consultation fees, and student support.

Applications for the 2001 - 2002 TIP can be downloaded from the link above.
