Baba Yaga
Performance(s):
Saturday, October 18, 2008: 7:00 p.m.
In this classic Russian folk-tale, Baba Yaga, lures young Misha to her strange cottage built on chicken legs and
prepares to eat her, aided and abetted by crows, skeletons, and other spooks. The excitement builds as friendly
woodland creatures try but fail to rescue Misha -- until finally her father arrives in the nick of time to do battle with Baba
Yaga. The production is a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination, with beautiful and eerie sets, colorful costumes,
magical lighting affects and the music of three Russian Masters: Mussorgsky, Stravinsky and Glazunov.
