Canadian guitarist Jesse Cook is an international phenomenon. He has sold over one million albums worldwide, earned one platinum
and four gold record awards for each of his albums, garnered critics' praise and Juno Award wins, and cast a spell over audiences
worldwide. New to this Billboard chart-topper? He’s jammed with the Gipsy Kings and Cassandra Wilson—and you might have heard a track
on HBO’s Sex and the City.
Cook is a highly acclaimed guitarist, composer, arranger and producer whose expressive arrangements fuse
age-old genres with a host of world influences. He performs regularly throughout Canada, the United States and
Asia and is renowned for drawing throngs of fans who dance and sing along to his entire performance.
Cook began to develop his signature rumba flamenco style at an early age. He would often listen to his mother's flamenco records
while growing up in Toronto and received extensive exposure to world music during frequent childhood visits to Europe. He later studied
music formally at the esteemed Eli Kassner Academy, at the Royal Conservatory of Canada and at York University.
An extraordinary flamenco rhumba guitarist, Jesse Cook blends styles from all over the globe and defies categorization
the moment you try to apply a term. A phenomenal hybrid explosion of sound whose performances are unforgettable
journeys into true genius.
2007 has been a fantastic year for Cook, having released his sixth studio album (seventh
overall) Frontiers (EMI). The album features Cook's incredible rumba flamenca
style guitar. The album has been on top of the World Music Charts since its release in
March, and was Cook's highest CD debut ever at #22! Cook is currently crossing Canada on
his "Frontiers 2007 World Tour" and will be making this special stop in Buffalo.
