Summer Physics Academy 2008

Housing Information

(Note: 2009 page to be updated when details are finalized, although arrangements are likely to be similar to last year's)

On campus housing is available to Summer Physics Academy students at a cost of  $30/day, including weekends.  You will be staying in the Moore Complex, which is apartment style housing (see www.buffalostate.edu/tour/index.asp?sectid=morc for details).  Each apartment has 2-4 bedrooms with two beds in each bedroom.  Here are some notes about the apartments:

* The rooms are not air-conditioned, so you may want to bring a small (or not so small) fan.  Buffalo summers can be hot or chilly, so bring layers of clothes.
* The kitchen is not supplied with any utensils.  You will need to bring a small number of items with which to cook and eat.
* There is no microwave in the apartments – you can bring one if you wish.  There is a full sized refrigerator and stove.
* Linens will be provided (bed linens, blanket, pillow and a towel), but feel free to bring your own if that would make you more comfortable. You might want to bring your own towels because those provided are kind of small :).
* There are laundry facilities and gym facilities available for summer residents.
* The rooms have ethernet outlets, but you must bring an ethernet cable if you want to use a laptop on the Internet.  There is spotty wireless on campus.
