In this podcast, Kenneth Dauber, professor of American literature at the University at Buffalo, presents “Sentiment, Skepticism, and Community in Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

Dauber is the author of Rediscovering Hawthorne and The Idea of Authorship in America: Democratic Poetics from Franklin to Melville. He is also the co-editor of Ordinary Language Criticism: Literary Thinking after Cavell after Wittgenstein. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from Princeton, and his B.A. from Columbia University.
