**MPA UPDATE**
SUNY System Administration approved Buffalo State's Letter of Intent for the MPA in Public and NonProfit Management (February 2010). The MPA program proposal was approved at the Buffalo State level in April 2010. The external review process was completed in the summer months. Our MPA proposal was sent to SUNY System Administration in July 2010. For more information about the MPA proposal, please contact either Mr. Angelo A. Conorozzo (878-6800) or Dr. Keith Henderson, (878-5019), the co-directors of the planned MPA.

At the graduate level, the Political Science Department offersthe M.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Public Management.
M.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies
Multidisciplinary programs are designed for individuals with unique professional and educational objectives not readily met by traditional master's degree programs. Through carefeul advisement and following certain guidelines, students anticipating a career in public service or already employed as government officials can tailor a program to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for government administration.
These programs are not confined to one discipline but involve relevant courses in at least four departments.
A minimum of 30 credits, including a three-credit project, is required.
Students in-service or interested in a career in human services administration or non-profit management can elect to work with Mr. Angelo A. Conorozzo (878-6800).
Students in-service or interested in a career in public sector management (public administration) can elect to work with Dr. Keith Henderson, (878-5019)

The graduate certificate program in Public Management provides students with an advanced course of study at the graduate level concentrating on the conceptual, technical, and professional education and skills required for administrative and leadership positions in governmental offices and not-for-profit agencies. The program, totaling 15 credit hours, includes three required core courses (9 credit hours) and two electives (6 credit hours) taken from the pre-approved list of electives. Transfer credit may be given for one or both of the elective courses. Students may matriculate in a master’s program at Buffalo State while pursuing this certificate.
Online Availability: Some courses in the certificate are offered hybrid and online.
Admission Requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 (4.0 scale) or a master’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale).
2. A brief written statement of the applicant’s professional or educational goals and how a graduate certificate in public management supports these goals.
3. Successful review by the Admissions Committee.
