Distance Education/Online Learning

Online learning at Buffalo State has been developing over the past decade. Certain programs - such as Educational Technology and Adult Education - have offered courses and programs for some time and have been leaders in this field. Faculty members have been trained through our Instructional Resources Department by Melaine Kenyon and through the SUNY Learning Network since 2002. Based on increasing faculty and student demand, the Provost's office has sponsored incentives since 2009. As of the spring of 2011, these have led to 100 courses being developed and 47 faculty being trained by the instructional designers. Buffalo State's Instructional Resources staff has forged an active partnership with the SUNY Learning Network (SLN) through which additional training and professional development opportunities are made available. Buffalo State's online learning efforts are fully compliant with Middle States guidelines.
