Buffalo State welcomes its new full-time faculty with a year-long orientation, which begins with a two-day session for all new faculty members on the Monday and Tuesday before classes begin in August. Several of the schools and departments also hold welcoming events for their new faculty during that week.
Other new faculty orientation sessions occur throughout the year as the campus seeks to educate newcomers on its mission and vision, the Buffalo State student, and campus resources available in support of teaching, scholarship and service. We also try to provide opportunities for new faculty to get to know each other and to identify senior faculty who can mentor and advise them.
