The Provost’s Incentive Grants for Faculty Research, Scholarship and Creativity are offered through the Office of Academic Affairs to provide tenured and tenure-track faculty with funds to assist with travel, purchase of materials, conference fees, and other support for scholarly, research or creative activities.
Selection Criteria
A selection committee comprised of representatives from the faculties of the four schools will read and evaluate all properly completed applications. Applications will be rated on the three criteria listed below; applicants should be sure specifically to address EACH of the following three criteria:
- Specific ways the applicant’s professional development will benefit from the ability to do this research/creative activity. Likelihood that the project will result in refereed publications, juried exhibits or invitational solo showings, and/or presentations at professional conferences. Likelihood the scholarship will develop new perspectives, skills or experiences that would contribute to subsequent professional development and scholarship. (60 percent of rating)

Potential the experience has for enhancing the applicant’s teaching. (20 percent)

Potential contribution of the applicant’s project to his/her service to department, school and/or Buffalo State College. (20 percent)
Eligibility
All full-time Buffalo State College tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible.
Deadlines
A call for proposals is typically issued at the beginning of April, with application deadlines in early May. Awards are made in May.
