REGISTRATION PREPARATION

STUDY OFF CAMPUS PROCEDURES

A matriculated undergraduate student that currently attends Buffalo State College and wants to take a course at another college:

1.   Student fills out the Study Off Campus Form  available at the Registrar's Office at Moot Hall 210.

2.   Student obtains signatures--1st signature is of the chair of the course equivalent (i.e., MATH course = Math chair, HISTORY course = History chair, etc.). 2nd signature is the chair of the students' major.

3.   After signatures are obtained, student brings the approved Study Off Campus Form to the Registrar's Office (student should keep the PINK copy).

4.   After the student completes the course, the student must request an official transcript be sent to Buffalo State College's Registrar's Office, attn:  Off Campus Study Coordinator for entry in the students' record.

NOTES: 

  • A maximum of 88 credit hours may be transferred with no more than 66 credit hours from two year institutions.
  • English composition courses must have prior approval from the Director of Academic Standards Office (Twin Rise 100).
  • Writing intensive courses cannot be taken at another institution and will not be transferred as a writing intensive course at Buffalo State College.
  • Students are urged to have transcripts of all coursework completed elsewhere forwarded to the Registrar's Office as soon as possible.  Coursework undertaken elsewhere, other than by cross-registration, will be recorded as transfer credit on the college transcript.
