Welcome to Residence Life at Buffalo State College!

We are here to support and enhance your college experience through a dynamic residential life program that provides opportunities for individual growth and development for a diverse residential population.  Residence Life strives to provide facilities that are clean, well-maintained, safe, attractive, and available at a reasonable cost, and this mission is sustained through comprehensive facilities and financial planning.

National studies have found campus residency to correlate positively with student learning and retention.  Buffalo State College is a residential SUNY campus whose programs are designed to provide enhanced opportunities for learning, retention, and a well-rounded education for students.

All full-time, first-year and sophomore students whose permanent residence is beyond a 35-mile radius of Buffalo State College are required to reside on campus for four consecutive semesters or 60 credits.  Those exempt from the requirement include married students, single parents, transfer students, veterans, students over age 21, or students residing with relatives.

The Residence Hall License you sign when agreeing to utilize Residence Life facilities is binding for both the Fall and Spring semesters of that Academic year.
