Buffalo State has seen a significant increase in overall enrollment for this upcoming academic year. This semester, the college has also witnessed a 14% increase in demand for on campus housing.
Buffalo State is providing incoming resident students who do not have on campus dorm assignments with housing at Adams's Mark Hotel. While assigning on campus housing is the optimal solution, the college is providing alternate accommodations until all students can be placed in residence halls.

Why do we have more residents than beds available?
Students often have the full intention of attending the institution of their choice. However, as the day approaches many students decide not to attend college for a variety of reasons. These students are considered “No Shows.” Once it is confirmed that a “No show” student is not attending Buffalo State, their spaces are reassigned.
How did we determine who was assigned to the hotels?
Transfer and Returning Students are assigned to the Adam's Mark.
How long will students be housed in the hotels?
Students will remain assigned to the hotels until a space becomes available on campus. Students who are deemed a “No Show” will have their assignment canceled and the space will be reassigned to students who are housed at the hotel. There is a possibility that students will be housed at the hotel for the duration of the semester, dependant upon the numbers of “No Show” cancellations received. We are confident that students will receive an on campus assignment by the beginning of the spring semester.
Do other colleges/universities house students in hotels?
Yes, a number of institutions house students in hotels around the country.
Who will staff the hotel?
Adam's Mark is a full service hotel. Their front desks are staffed 24/7 (longer than the desk operation on campus). In addition, the Residence Life Office will provide additional student and professional staff who will reside in the hotels. The Hotel Director and Resident Assistants will maintain regular duty coverage just as they would if they were assigned to a campus residence hall. This is in addition to the security already being provided by the hotel management.
Which hotels are being used?
Transfer students will be housed at the Adam's Mark. The hotel is located at 120 Church Street. http://www.adamsmark.com/adamsmark/index.html
Who will make the hotel reservation?
All housing assignments for the hotels will be coordinated through the Residence Life Office. Students will be assigned to double occupancy rooms. The hotels will not permit a student to check in if they are not pre-authorized by the Residence Life Office.
Is transportation provided?
A shuttle bus service will be provided by NFTA throughout the day at each hotel. All Buffalo State students also receive an NFTA Metro Bus Pass. This pass provides students unlimited access to the local public transportation at no additional charge. The bus pass will be available at the hotel.
How do we eat?
Breakfast will be provided at each hotel at no cost to the student everyday. Students will utilize their meal plans on campus for lunch and dinner. All campus meals are served in the Campbell Student Union.
Is computer access available?
Yes, computer access is available at the hotel. The Adam's Mark is a hard wired site. Wireless access is not available from the room. There is only one port in each room; however a "mini-switch" will be provided to ensure access for both residents. Students should bring their own computer cables to connect to the computer ports.
When can I move into the hotel?
Students can move into the hotel on Friday, August 22, beginning at 10:00 am. Students can check into each hotel directly. There is no need to come to campus first.
How do I pay for the hotel?
The Residence Life Office coordinates all payments to the hotels. Students will be responsible for the normal room and board charges which are made payable to Buffalo State College.
What should I bring?
You can bring the normal items you would have brought to the residence halls. Each room will have a television so you don't need to bring one. Flammable materials, open flamed appliances, hot plates, etc. are not permitted. Wall hangings are not permitted at either hotel. Bedding will be provided by the hotel.
