SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS

Presbyterian Church (USA) Native American Education Grant- Provides grants to Native American students enrolled full time at an accredited institution in the US.  Applicants must provide a copy of tribal membership and be a US citizen or permanent resident in good academic standing.  For more information visit the sponsor's website at:  www.pcusa.org/financialaid/programs/nativeamericanedugrant.htm  Deadline: September 1st.

NYSFAAA Scholarship  (New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association)-  The annual NYSFAA Scholarship program will award up to five non-renewable $2,000 scholarships for the fall 2007 semester.  In addition, it will fund two $5,000 scholarships which are awarded at the Annual State Fair.  All nominees must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  Students must demonstrate unusual hardship and must be enrolled at least half-time during the fall 2007 semester.  Students have to be nominated by a member of the Financial Aid Office, call (716) 878-4902 for more details email scholarship@buffalostate.edu or visit http://www.nysfaaa.orgDeadline: September 1st.

Military Personnel who served in the Iraq/Afghanistan War - The Horatio Alger Association is accepting applications from November 1, 2006 through March1, 2007 for its 2006 Horatio Alger Military Veterans Scholarship.  The Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society.  For additional information and to apply on-line visit http://www.horatioalger.org/scholarships_military/index.cfmDeadline: September 1st.

John C. The Paul G.
