Lecture on Gender and Gaming
Time: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Bulger Communication Center South
How does gender influence the world of video games and the experiences of gamers? Jennifer Jenson, faculty member at York University, will address these questions in a campus address, "Precarious Relations: Gender, Games, and Cultural Hegemony." Jenson has conducted extensive research on gender and gaming and co-edited, Worlds in Play, a book about digital gaming research. A reception will follow.
The talk is free and open to all members of the campus community. Please encourage students to attend, especially since many of them are involved with gaming.
This event is being presented by the Women and Gender Studies Program as part of its Women's History Month program.
