Social work—a rewarding career, a promising future.

Social workers empower people to change their lives. They connect people with needed services and resources, advocate for human rights, and serve people of all ages and backgrounds who face a variety of life challenges.

Buffalo State's Social Work Department offers a bachelor of science in social work degree that educates graduates in a field that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has indicated will grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2010.

Our program, which has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1975, combines relevant academic preparation with hands-on, practical experience.
