Meet the Faculty
The faculty of the Sociology Department is involved in community work as well as in teaching and research. Faculty members are committed to student success both in the classroom and in life. Faculty advisers help students choose courses and careers, and act as mentors for student research projects.
The faculty is active in diverse fields of sociology, including family, childhood, gender, social movements, ethnic and racial stratification, mental health, environmental justice, criminology, power, African American families, emotions, alcohol studies, suicide trends, and urban community revitalization.
