There are basic policies and procedures that must be followed to determine whether or not a student will be permitted to enroll in the Visiting Student Program:

  • 1.       The host campus must be a regionally accredited college or university.
  • 2.      A copy of a written acceptance notification from the host campus must be filed in the Office of Special Programs of Buffalo State.
  • 3.      The student must be full-time student and in good standing, academically, financially, and socially at Buffalo State with a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall and in the major (if a major has been declared).  If applying for the 3-in-1 program at FIT, the minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
  • 4.      The student must have written approval from the academic department of the major for both the campus to be attended and the courses being proposed.  (If a major has not been declared, the approval will come from the Enrollment Support and Retention Programs, South Wing 110, 878-5223.)
