Buffalo State College

2003-2008 Strategic Plan

The Process

Buffalo State's strategic planning process, officially launched October 18, 2001, is intended to be inclusive, highly participative, and open and respectful of existing governance systems. Over a 12-month period, more than 800 faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community leaders contributed to the creation of the strategic plan, which was finalized in October 2002.

Buffalo State views its strategic plan as a “compass” that will point the college in the direction it needs to move to best fit its changing educational, societal, and fiscal environment.

The College Planning Council

The College Planning Council (CPC) appointed by President Muriel A. Howard is guiding the planning and implementation of the strategic plan. The CPC includes faculty, staff, student, and administrative representatives. It was charged with drafting key elements of the planóstrategic directions, initiatives, and action stepsóand ways to evaluate successful implementation.

All faculty, staff, and administrative CPC members have agreed to serve five-year terms (2003-2008) on the council. Student members remain on the council through their graduation.
