Weeks of Welcome

The Student Life Office in collaboration with Campus Life invites the campus community to participate in Weeks of Welcome! (WOW!). WOW! was created to engage students in meaningful programming during the first six weeks of the fall academic semester. Runway Show: Mondiale

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Location: Campbell Student Union Quad

The Fashion Students Association at Buffalo State's annual Fall Fashion Show, "Mondiale." 

Fully embracing the Year of the City and celebrating diversity, we are taking Buffalo State on a fashion-filled tour around the world. Designers will be presenting their collections based on popular global hotspots in the world.

The red carpet hour starts at 6:00 p.m. Come out and eat some food, enjoy some music, and buy from our Student Vendors. Show starts promptly at 7:00 p.m.

Rooftop Poetry Club Reading

Please join the Rooftop Poetry Club on Tuesday, Oct. 9th from 12:15-1:15 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library's International Students Reading Area (3rd floor, SE Quad) for a reading featuring Morani Kornberg-Wies.
 

Morani Kornberg-Weiss moved from Tel Aviv, Israel to Buffalo, NY in order to pursue a Ph.D. in English at SUNY Buffalo's Poetics Program. Her scholarship revolves around the Israel-Palestinian conflict and its literary manifestations, protest poetry, postcolonial literature and theory, the lyric tradition, and ekphrasis.
 

Her poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Omnia Vanitas Review, kadar koli, The Last Stanza, Voices Israel, Re-Vision, Papilio, and Genius Floored. Morani's translation of Miracles & More, written by Israeli poet Karen Alkalay-Gut, was recently published by Keshev (Tel Aviv, Israel). She hopes to complete two poetry manuscripts entitled Folding into Her Self and Dear Darwish later this year. She currently lives in Buffalo with her husband, dog, two cats, and a massive owl collection.
